Dr. John D. Nichols

The Reverend Dr. John D. Nichols, served as Executive Director of Church of God Care Ministries.  Subsequent to assuming his current position, Dr. Nichols completed eight years as an elected member of the General Executive Committee of the Church of God, having served since 1986 as General Secretary-Treasurer
(3 years), Third Assistant General Overseer          (1 year),  and Second Assistant General Overseer (4 years).

Educated in Southern California College, Northwest Bible College, and the Church of God School of Theology, Dr. Nichols has been a clergyman since 1951.  Known and acclaimed as a dynamic speaker, he is regularly featured in important religious convocations throughout the United States and many other countries of the world.  His unique preaching skills, together with his excellent Biblical scholarship, make him a favorite with many thousand of individuals.

Prior to these four elected two-year terms at the highest level of church administration, Dr. Nichols distinguished himself as Pastor (1952-60) of prestigious churches in California and Alabama; State Overseer (18 years) of Oregon, North and South Dakota, Florida, Illinois and Tennessee; and elected Assistant Director and Director of the Department of Evangelism and Home Missions.

Reverend Nichols resides in Knoxville, TN with his wife, Norene, in Knoxville, Tennessee.  They have two daughters, Jeanne and Judith.  They have two grandsons, James Kirk and John D., and two granddaughters, Samantha Jill and Tiffany Michelle.

Dr. Nichols is now serving as the Executive Director for the Lazarus Foundation.
