Dr. Gene Rice

Dr. Gene D. Rice began his ministry as pastor at Midway, Florida. From there he went to Alabama where he served as Pastor for 13 years during which time he served on the State Youth Board several terms as well as other various state committees.

In 1966 he was appointed State Overseer of Nebraska and went on to serve as State Overseer in Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee and Florida.

In 1978 he was elected by the General Assembly to serve as Assistant Director of Evangelism and Home Missions for four years. In 1982 he was elected by the General Assembly to serve as General Director of Evangelism and Home Missions.

In 1990 he was elected by the General Assembly to serve as General Secretary Treasurer. In 1992 he was elected by the General Assembly to serve as Assistant Director of World Missions for four years. In 1996 he was elected by the General Assembly to serve as Director of World Missions.

He served as a member of the Executive Council from 1976-1980 and was  again elected to serve from 1986-1990. He was elected at the 2000-2002  and 2002-2004 General Assembly as the Secretary General of the Church of God. Reverend Rice has served as Night Evangelist and Bible teacher in numerous State Camp Meetings.

We are pleased to announce his latest elected position as Chairman of the Peniel Board of Directors.
