Meet the Staff

Durean Coleman

I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and have lived here all my life. I grew up living with my mother, older sister, and younger brother, so I am the middle child. We moved around somewhat when I was a young man, always within Johnstown though and in the summer of 2001, I graduated, with honors, from Greater Johnstown High School. Soon after, I went to work at a Telemarketing firm, where I was a Sales Supervisor/Trainer for four years.

I have always had an interest in computers and hope to obtain a degree in Information Technology in the near future. I also enjoy music, reading, golf, video games, and watching movies, sports, and TV. Most of all though,  I love to spend time with four year-old daughter Demiah, and my two year-old nephew Dionte.

By the grace of God, I have never personally suffered an addiction to drugs or alcohol; however, it is an issue that is very close to my heart because many of my family and friends have dealt with it at one point or another. I started coming to church at Peniel when a co-worker encouraged me to go with him. I had never been to church all my life and it wasn’t long after I started going that I realized there was a void in my life and in my heart due to the absence of the Lord Jesus Christ. God filled my heart and I got saved in June of 2004, and soon after I became a member of Peniel Praise Community Church.

In September of 2006 the telemarketing firm I was working for shut down their Johnstown office, ending my employment. It worked out to be a blessing for me, though, as it lead me to join the Peniel Staff on a permanent basis. I currently work as the Director of Public Relations, and I am truly thrilled and blessed to be a part of the life-changing work that is being done at Peniel.
