Jeffrey A. Shaffer
I
have spent over nineteen years in accounting and management,
the past three as Fiscal Manager of Peniel. Prior to Peniel
I worked as the Business Manager for an independent telephone
book publisher, spent time as an Assistant Vice President-Controller
of a national bank, worked for a period of time as a staff accountant
with local CPA firms and spent a number of years managing the
auto body repair shops of local automobile dealerships.
My education has provided me with the foundation for all the
past positions I have held. Saint Francis University awarded me
a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with honors. Included
in my degree from Saint Francis is an internship with the Small
Business Development Center located on the university campus.
I also hold an Associate in Specialized Business Degree from Cambria-Rowe
Business College. An Associated in Specialized Technology Degree
from Vale Technical Institute provided my background in automotive
techniques and management.
My residence is in northern Somerset County and I share my life
with my wife of five years, Cynthia Marie. I am the father of
two daughters, Danielle and Michaela, and the stepfather of two
sons, Anthony and Phillip. For the past eight years I have served
as Treasurer for my home church, Berkey Church of the Brethren.
Although I have only been at Peniel for three years, the lives
I have seen changed is remarkable and gratifying. My office is
one of the first contacts individuals have with Peniel when seeking
treatment. Working in conjunction with intake we try to create
a plan for individuals to receive the help they so desperately
need.
I get to see the hurting men and women when they are at their
worst, watch the transformation of their lives and then watch
as they receive their diploma on graduation day. They are not
the same people that entered the program. |
